Reconstruction strategy for a Zuni village

The aim of the project is to propose to the Zuni a way of initiating a village on the site of the dilapidated Upper Nutria with a particular emphasis on the effective utilization of soils, water, wind and sun. The geological processes, inherited agricultural techniques and building practices of the Zuni are all gathered in the process of the study. The proposal intends to stimulate a series of discussion among the Zuni themselves on how to build their community.

Three levels of interventions are proposed in series: A) Amending fields (Scale 1"=2000'); B) Making community ground (Scale 1"=100'); and C) Re-building a house (Scale 1"=16').

Each of the 3 boards shown below is only one of the thematic boards of each level of interventions. Each board shows types and locations of proposed interventions, seasonal notations/programs of interventions; and soil conditions affected by the intervention.
